Report for ESSA Primary School National Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, 2016.
On Saturday 18th June, 2016, Hou Yu L, Isaac M, Archie G, Charlie V and Milad F-B were delighted to be representing the school and the East Midlands at the National swimming finals of ESSA (English Schools Swimming Association) at Ponds Forge (Olympic pool) for freestyle relay and medley relay. This was a very prestigious occasion with 520 swimmers taking part on the day and 200 teams in all the day’s events.

The boys swam exceedingly well in both events. The freestyle team came 19th and the medley team came 18th, missing out on the Top 16 finals by milliseconds! The boys were still very pleased to be in the Top 20 teams in the country for their events. An amazing achievement, at the end of a very busy week.

Many thanks to the parents for helping with the travelling arrangements and staying to support us throughout the day. As they said, there was such a buzz all day!

Student of WeekStudent of the Week
Alfie C for his hard work, resilience and determination in class and in Story Writing Club.
