Our U11 football team defeated Walter Halls School 5-2. Our goal scorers were Max McK-S (2), Isaac M (2) and Aamar K. Man of the match was Isaac M. He seemed to have energy like a Duracell bunny and covered every blade of grass on the pitch.

Coach Shaw

Congratulations to Millen R who was mascot for Chelsea this week!

Rugby BallRugby:

Matches vs Hill House
The Under 8s A team defeated Hill House 8 tries to 6. Due to the condition of the field in places, the teams were forced to play on a pitch somewhat smaller than we are used to. Space was difficult to find in a frenetic and occasionally messy game, and even the referee felt claustrophobic at times.

The children initially decided they would try the tactic of standing as close to each other as possible and jostling for possession of the ball. Upon realising that this was probably not the best strategy for ‘non-contact’ tag rugby being played such a small pitch, an alternative approach was adopted: spreading out in a longer line to look for pockets of space. This proved to be slightly more successful.

Tries we’re shared quite equally between the team: Henry S x2, George T x2, Fletcher P x2, James B x1 C x1 and Euan D x1

Coach Crossland

The U8B had a great game winning 12-9.  We got some tries in early on and worked well at passing to one another as well as some of the team being quick on their feet to get through the gaps. Hill House made a good come back and were very close to taking the lead in the second half but the boys continued to persevere.  8 tries came from Fred L, 2 from Arun S, and 1 each from Saketh C and Verroshan A

Coach Miller

The Under 9B team beat Hill House by 11 tries to 7. From 6-5 down at half time they showed great strength of character to win the second half 6-1. Thundering tackles from Kapil K and Cholan S, coupled with 5 tries from the Captain, Joshua M made for excellent teamwork and superb adaptation of tactics. I was proud of their conduct both on and off the pitch.

Coach Slater

Matches vs The Elms

U9A lost 11 tries to 7. Tries from Ryan M, Alfie A, Abdullah A, George E. Alfie ‘The Animal’ A was the stand-out player for the team!

U9Bs lost 10-1 (Try scorer – Abdullah A).

U11s won 5-4

Can a special mention be made in achievement assembly for the U10 rugby team who have now completed their season undefeated which is a very rare event given our strong fixture card. They have played 9 and won 8 drawing the other. They defeated Elms yesterday 4 tries to 3.
