On the 11th March, our Year 6 team represented Notts County at the Kids Cup regional finals, with a place at Wembley Stadium at stake.  Due to such an early start in Swindon, the team travelled to Chippenham the day before and stayed overnight at a local hotel.

We lost our first game 3-1 to Crawley, then beat Colchester 1-0. Both of our goals were scored by Isaac M.

Next we beat Yeovil 1-0 (Joseph P.), and Swindon 1-0 (Aamran A.) With one game to play we still had a slight chance to qualify, but had to hope that Crawley stopped winning. Sadly, they scored with literally the very last kick of the match to defeat Colchester 2-1 and therefore ended our hopes of a return to Wembley.  Dejectedly, we lost our last game to Leyton Orient 2-0.

It was an amazing performance from all of the squad and each and every one of them contributed in equal measure throughout the tournament

ChessChess Zayan B gained 2nd place as part of Notts A U9s in the County Chess competition, Naveen B gained 3rd place and Namit Batra was awarded bronze.
