National Quiz Club – Inter-School Science Championship

Huge congratulations to the NHS team (and Mrs Sethi) in attaining 1st place:

SwimmingSwimming – On Tuesday 14th October, the NGHS came over for a home fixture against our Boys’ teams. This year children from Years 4, 5 and 6 age groups were selected to represent their year group, many for the first time. After an exciting start in the Medley relays, pupils from both the schools swam exceedingly well in the individual 25m events, with some very exciting and close finishes. Freestyle relays were then held for both age groups and again there was some excellent swimming. The
final scores were as follows:

1st NHIJS A team: 81 points
2nd NGHS A team: 57 points
3rd NHIJS B team: 42 points
4th NGHS B team: 38 points

 Age groups:
U11 NHIJS won 42 points to 38
U10 NHIJS won 45 points to 25
U9 NHIJS won 36 points to 32

Hou Yu L won Silver for the 200m Backstroke and a Bronze for the 100m Individual Medley at his club Nova Centurion.

Harrison S was the ‘1st Place Novice’ at the Club Championships for his karting club.

 

Martial Arts

Martial Arts – Alex W has been selected to represent England at Ozwana International World Karate Tournament which is held in Las Vegas, USA. A superb achievement – well done, Alex.

This week, the Under 10s football team won 7-1 vs Scotholme Primary, with goals from Isaac M (3), Max McK-S (2), Ben T and Aamar K.

 

CricketCricket

Ryaan Z has been successful in his recently held county cricket trials at Trent Bridge Nottingham. This means Ryaan will be representing Nottinghamshire Under 11 County Cricket Squad 2015 next season.

Football    Football

The Under 10s football team drew 3-3 vs Fernwood at Valley Road yesterday afternoon. A shaky start led to the opposition scoring after 10 seconds, but the boys did not let their heads drop and they managed to come back into it. Goals from Isaac M (2) and Max M-S. Aamar K also deserves a mention for a great performance.

Robin Hood Marathon Jake D ran the Robin Hood Mini-Marathon for the 1st time last Sunday and finished with a very respectable time of 11.26 – 268th out of 2303 runners.

Isaac M also ran as did Harry G, Isak I, Rayan M or Z, Joseph P and William A.

Mr Jones, Mr Caldwell and Mrs Bignall also competed in the half-marathon.

SwimmingSwimming Harry E came in 6th place for Mansfield Swimming Club

Hou Yu has been awarded 6 different trophies for his swimming at Matlock and District Club.

Arnav S was named ‘Most improved Player’ at Wollaton Club.

Edward M was named ‘Sportsman of the Year’ and Isaac M was named as ‘Player of the Year’ for his club.
