It seems as though the boys have carried on from where they left off before the half term break!
Our achievement assembly preceded our Remembrance Service, which this year was based on the theme of evacuation.
Over the half term break I enjoyed reading one of my favourite books, from my childhood, to my two sons at bedtime. The book was of course the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
I’m delighted to say that both boys enjoyed it as much as I did when I was their age. In fact, they enjoyed the book so much, that they asked if we could watch the film as a special treat.
It was from this simple request that really got me thinking about the subject for today’s Remembrance Service here at Nottingham High Junior School. I’m sure your son will be able to go through the main points of the service with you over the weekend, but I’ve included the opening clip from my presentation to give you a flavour of today’s service.
In terms of today’s achievement assembly we had many things to celebrate starting with mathematics…
Well done to Archie, Zain and Joe for learning their 12×12 multiplication tables by heart.
Congratulations go to the boys pictured below for scoring the highest total of house points over the last house point fortnight in their respective house.
Josh brought in his trophy from MHCC, as he was the best batsman in their squad.
Student of the week goes to Charlie for being a fantastic role model in Year 3. You can certainly see how pleased Charlie is to have received his reward in the photograph!
Friday 12th October
U10 Football vs. Fernwood at Valley Road
We lost to Fernwood 4-0. They were a strong team and will probably win our league. We had some good chances, hit the post, some great saves from their keeper, but they were the better side. We were taught a footballing lesson!

We finished 2nd on the day behind Archbishop Cranmer School. With a full complement of boys I think we should be in with a shout again, can we make it 4 years in a row?
